Today I teamed one of my favourite ties, with a Remus Uomo checked jacket. This classic Ralph Lauren polo motif tie was bought at Swindon Outlet Village a number of years ago.

I liked how the purple of the tie brings out the faint purple check running through the jacket and the soft chambray shirting works well with the blue overcheck.

This navy bicycle print Paul Smith tie was bought in Liberty last summer. Sir Paul is a really keen cyclist and his love of two wheeled transport has appeared as a motif in many of his collections, and as I completed my own cycle challenge this year I decided a new tie was appropriate!

This moss green tie is the newest member of the collection! Little embroidered pheasants are dotted along the length of the tie.

It's the first non Ralph Lauren animal themed tie and hopefully not the last...I have my eyes on a little fox motif next time around.

On a grey wet winters day, what better way to spend some time than to colour code or otherwise organise my tie collection.

Stripes, checks, spots, patterned, plain, knitted, so many variations of the humble necktie....and I must confess I am addicted!

And each tie will have a bit of story attached to it, whether it was picked up in a Florence boutique, a TK Maxx superstore or an airport shop, I remember pretty much where each and every one of these items has come from.
